Federal drug trafficking suspect in Florida bust

Various areas in Florida are often centers of federal investigations in drug-related situations. Federal drug trafficking charges may result after such investigations if agents believe they have reason and evidence to suggest that a person or persons has engaged in criminal drug activities. A recent bust went down in St. Petersburg, leading to one arrest and the seizure marijuana that agents claim exceeds $1 million in street value.

Police claim that the ongoing investigation uncovered evidence that a drug operation was being run between the West and East Coasts. A 23-year-old man has been arrested as the suspected drug run leader. Authorities claim he used the U.S. Postal Service to transport marijuana and money in the alleged drug scheme.

The suspicions were reportedly raised when they noticed that the unemployed man was living a rather luxurious lifestyle. They said he wears a watch on his wrist that is worth at least $55,000. Apparently, the man used a hydroponic system in his home to grow marijuana which he would then sell and distribute by mail.

Officials claimed that even after the man was arrested, drugs and money continued to show up in his mailbox. Those accused of a similar federal drug trafficking situation in Florida would typically benefit from the guidance of an experienced and aggressive criminal defense attorney. In addition to building a strategy to minimize the potential negative impact of an incident, an attorney can build as strong a defense as possible to increase one's chances of obtaining a positive outcome in court.
