Combat veteran accused of federal drug trafficking in Florida

Those in Florida accused of drug-related crimes often face many legal challenges as they proceed through the judicial system. Federal drug trafficking is a serious offense for which a convicted defendant may get extended time in prison, as well as incur substantial monetary fines. It is always advisable to retain legal representation to build a strong and aggressive defense.

A recent situation involved a man who has previously served the United States in military combat overseas. The former soldier is said to have been the leader of one of the largest-ever Molly rings in the state's history. Apparently, he was the mastermind behind a plan to bring the narcotic drugs to the area from Asia.

The story behind the man is reportedly full of porn stars, drugs, money and Miami nightlife. The tattooed veteran is scheduled to spend four years in prison after a potential 10-year sentence was reduced because of his cooperation with federal authorities and his record of military service. It was reported that he went undercover to help draw out an accomplice in the case. A federal agent said that the man's assistance led to at least 13 drug busts in the area.

Experienced and aggressive legal representation is often needed to secure an outcome that will not have permanent negative impacts on a defendant's future. A Florida attorney who has successfully fought other federal drug trafficking charges is likely equipped to investigate the events leading up to an arrest for details that may aid in a client's defense. For example, such situations sometimes involve searches and seizures that an attorney may determine have violated the personal rights of a defendant.
