Where drug-related crimes are concerned, situations often involve more than one person. A recent major federal drug trafficking bust went down in Florida that resulted in nearly 20 separate arrests. Reportedly, nine others are still being sought by various authorities in the case.

The Drug Enforcement Administration has apparently been working with the St. Cloud Police Department in a combined effort to serve approximately 50 search warrants in conjunction with an ongoing investigation. During said searches, authorities claim to have seized more than 200 grams of cocaine, close to 30 grams of heroin and other types of heavy drugs and weapons. Eighteen different suspects were arrested and booked into a county jail.

Those working on the situation reported that their investigation continues. They also said they expect to make several more arrests in the near future in connection with the situation. The current investigation has been ongoing for the past three months.

Facing federal drug trafficking charges in Florida is a serious endeavor with potentially severe penalties if convicted. Obviously, anyone involved in such incidents will want to defend themselves to the fullest extent of the law. This is why many defendants choose to act alongside experienced legal counsel in all interactions with law enforcement and court officials. Choice of legal counsel may have a direct impact on the outcome of a case in court. It is typically best to research the backgrounds of available attorneys in the area, choosing one who is known for defending serious and high profile cases with successful results.
