Whether one lives in Florida or any other state, it is never a comfortable situation when federal agents raid a high-rise condominium. If one happens to be a resident in said condo, the situation can go from merely uncomfortable to downright scary. This is just what happened on a recent Tuesday morning. Federal authorities conducted multiple white collar crime raids ending in the arrests of several people.

Apparently, the group of suspects, comprised of both married couples and other individuals, is accused of committing at least $3 million in bankruptcy fraud in various situations unrelated to each other. Reportedly, bankruptcy claims were filed, but assets and money were either hidden or transferred before the filings took place. Neighbors of one couple who was arrested likened the group of federal agents who stormed the high-rise complex to a small army.

The FBI raid ended with a married couple being escorted from the building in handcuffs. The spouses have three children. All three are now in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.

Other arrests took place in various locations in and around Southern Florida in connection with the alleged white collar crime schemes. In total, federal agents apprehended eight different suspects in relation to four separate bankruptcy fraud cases. Anyone who has been subject to such an investigation in the past understands the seriousness of the matter. It is always advisable to protect one’s own rights by requesting assistance from an experienced criminal defense attorney prior to standing before the court.
