Man in Florida sentenced for white collar crime

Facing high-profile federal charges in Florida or anywhere is obviously a serious matter. The mere fact that white collar crime charges have been filed, however, does not necessarily mean that a conviction will be handed down in court. That is why it is often crucial to retain the assistance of an experienced criminal defense attorney who has gone to bat for defendants at both state and federal levels in order to build a strong defense and obtain as positive a legal outcome as possible.

Often, situations surrounding serious criminal charges are complex. An attorney can launch an investigation on behalf of a defendant to scrutinize every aspect of the events that led to an arrest. This can help determine whether the specific charges filed are appropriate to the situation.

An attorney is also able to challenge a portion or all of the charges against a client. This has been done on many occasions when personal rights of a defendant have been violated by law enforcement agents. In fact, the court will sometimes dismiss a case or render certain collected evidence inadmissible in court if a situation warrants it.

One man was recently sentenced in Florida for a white collar crime scheme that is said to have made approximately $80 million for those involved. The man is apparently going to spend an extended period of time in prison for his role in the fraud. In similar situations, an attorney can aggressively fight against such charges in the hope of helping a client avoid incarceration.
