Agents from the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation have reported that eight people have been charged for a drug-related crime in Florida. Police are reportedly searching for another man in the federal drug trafficking case. According to reports, the man for whom police are searching has a wife and two children.
Federal and local agents are said to have joined forces in a year-long investigation into the suspected drug ring. Authorities have alleged that those involved conspired to traffic more than 400 grams of cocaine. The identities of two other suspects have not been released to the public.
MBI agents have said that most of the suspects have extensive histories of drug-related criminal activity. Reports indicate that seven search warrants produced substantial amounts of drugs, cash and firearms. The man for whom police continue to search is accused of running a business out of his home as a front for the alleged drug operation.
Those charged in the Florida federal drug trafficking case are presumed innocent under the law unless proved guilty in court. In similar circumstances, any person who has been arrested and charged with a drug-related crime has the right to seek legal counsel in the matter. An experienced criminal lawyer would be able to review the details of an individual case in order to determine what options might be available to someone who is preparing to face criminal charges in court. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding one’s case, every person has the right to retain a legal representative to act as his or her advocate during court proceedings.
